News this week about the Japanese media franchise that is Ghost in the Shell has been all good. FUNimation Entertainment announced yesterday the North American release of Ghost in The Shell: The New Movie will be November 10, 11 and 16. Find tickets here. This is the first movie in more than ten years for the manga sci-fi franchise in the USA. The movie will be released in more than 330 theaters across the United States and Canada. The DreamWorks live action movie variant starring Scarlett Johansson has a new writer in Jonathan Herman, who has been brought in to do an overhaul on the script for the live-action thriller. The Hollywood Reporter article says Herman was brought in after his success this summer with Straight Outta Compton which is nearing the $200 million milestone. The re-write may delay the film however that was originally set to release on March 31, 2017.

A world where human brains connect directly to computer networks, and the line between gray matter and cyber is being erased quickly.
