The Death-defying Dr. Mirage is in play for a TV show

According to a Deadline article the CW network is looking to expand it’s comic book based TV show selection with a new drama based on the Valiant published graphic novel Dr. Mirage. Yes this would be a non-DCU story on the CW, and this would be a first toe dip into the TV waters for Valiant (Bloodshot, Ninjak) . Personally I’m excited to hear about some fresh new offerings making it to the small screen.

Earlier reported that a pilot had been ordered for this seventh superhero based show on the network. However later today they updated their version of the story to say a source close to the deal had reached out to them and said “the Doctor Mirage project is far from a done deal and just a conversation right now.”

If this does happen DMG Entertainment (Iron Man 3, Looper, Point Break) will guide Valiant’s first foray into television. Writer Gary Dauberman (Annabelle) is on board to write the TV adaptation and executive produce the project.

The Dr. Mirage Story

The Death-defying Dr. Mirage centers on a female paranormal investigator who can talk to the dead, except she has a blind spot for the one she most wants to reach —her late husband. While she toils under this strain she uses her gift to solve homicides and bring peace to the bereaved.
