AC on your TV live action
Ubisoft has been working on several extensions of its video game properties into movies and television, and it appears Assassin’s Creed may be getting a TV adaption. While it took a year off in the video game world, other media is getting more attention. Following the release this fall of the major motion picture starring Michael Fassbender, Assassin’s Creed head of content Aymar Azaizia confirmed during a Reddit AMA that a TV series could be on the way. While nothing is ever certain in video games or TV shows, Ubisoft has been actively pursuing live action versions its most popular IP’s.
White24Room: Hey Aymar ! Could you tell us more about the “TV Show” project for AC ? :P
Nope :p It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wander if it’s on our plan… YES
Assassin’s Creed TV Adaption On Netflix?
The film and television group at Ubisoft is also in the process of producing Splinter Cell movie and a film based on The Division. Called Ubisoft Motion Pictures the company is also in talks with Netflix about making a series to air on the subscription network. While we don’t know if Aymar was referring to Netflix with that comment my vote is please let that be true. I’d love to see a Daredevil inspired version of the story vs. a sanitized prime time TV telling.
If you are interested in the lore and character of Assassin’s Creed I suggest checking out the AMA. Plenty of good questions posed by the reddit fans.
