A Mega Man you can't control on your TV

One of the most loved video game franchises of all time, Mega Man is getting a new TV series on Cartoon Network. Mega Man (aka Rockman in Japan) has dozens of title release across multiple platforms and according to publisher Capcom, has sold over thirty million copies. This latest iteration will be based on the “classic series” lore, rather than the other variants, such as Mega Man X or Mega Man Battle Network.

The new Mega Man story

The new Mega Man TV series will arrive sometime in 2018 and tell the story of Mega Man and his alter ego Aki Light, the happy teen-ish schoolboy robot with nano-core technology allowing him to become Mega Man. The series will take place in Silicon Valley (or its animated equivalent) and also feature his robotic dog, Rush. Animated by DHX Studios Vancouver, it will premiere on Cartoon Network in the US, and Family CHRGD in Canada. One note of caution, this series has been delayed in the past so I’d consider 2018 a wide target.
