The Full Gifted Trailer

Fox just released the first full trailer for their upcoming Marvel X-Men based TV show called The Gifted. If you have been following along, yes the show will be called The Gifted contrary to that title being dismissed earlier by Lauren Shuler Donner, longtime producer of the X-Men movie franchise. Arriving last night we got the first big look at the comic book based action-adventure show. Co-written and directed by X-Men superstar Bryan Singer the story is a familiar one to the mutants. Misunderstood, and feared mutants and the non-powered humans who support them are on the run.

The story centers on a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government (Sentinel Services), the family joins up with an underground network of mutants, and must fight to survive against hostile government agents. The Gifted will be connected to the Fox X-Men universe, however where this story exists along timeline is uncertain. During the trailer we hear Diaz say “The X-Men, the Brotherhood… we don’t even know if they exist anymore.” Suggesting that some significant time has passed since the world has been introduced to mutants and their internal struggles.

The Gifted release date is set for sometime in June 2017. It stars Stephen Moyer as Reed Strucker and Amy Acker as his wife, Caitlin Strucker. Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White play the empowered children, Lauren Strucker and Andy Strucker. Other gifted mutants appearing in the series are Sean Teale as Eclipse a.k.a. Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Blink, Emma Dumont as Polaris daughter of Magneto, Blair Redford plays Thunderbird a.k.a. John Proudstar and finally Coby Bell as Jace Turner.

Following some exciting news last week about X-Men: New Mutants, it has been a fruitful week for X-Men fans.
